A growing community
With expertise developed and documented over the past 25 years, the social circus community has expanded significantly, now encompassing 500 organizations worldwide, including 30 in Canada.
In Canada, social circus practices were initiated by Cirque du Soleil and its program Cirque du Monde in 1995, in the wake of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Cirkaskina has helped create a thriving social circus community that will continue to provide spaces for social transformation to youth, in addition to pushing forward the development of this innovative and alternative practice.
