Social circus and pre-employment skills
How youth develop social skills through creativity.
The Collective Creations component offers young people affected by homelessness or extreme precarity the experience of a circus creation process in a group. Accompanied by a symbiotic team of circus instructors and social workers, young people sign up for a selection process and commit to engaging in all activities related to this process.
This creative process culminates in a performance presented in the community, for example, at public events, children’s hospitals or seniors’ residences.
Through Collective Creations, we reach out to young people who, for the most part, engage in such a process for the first time, demonstrating their determination, perseverance and creativity.
Opportunities to meet the community.
While Collective Creations serve as a tool for pre-employment and for preventing homelessness, they also foster meaningful encounters: encountering oneself and one’s potential, encountering others, the world of circus, and the community.
Through their structure and objectives, Collective Creations provide an opportunity to experiment, to better understand oneself, and to take on challenges, both individually and collectively, by combining discipline, rigor, creativity and fun. Our team focuses on supporting participants to recognize and bring out the best in themselves.
